What is Clean Ceiling Panel?

Clean ceiling panel is a purification panel specially used for top enclosure of clean workshops. It differs from wall panels — ceiling panels need to bear their own weight as well as the load of lighting fixtures and air outlets, thus having higher requirements for flexural rigidity and hanging systems.

At the same time, ceiling panels directly face the vertical airflow in the workshop. Any surface defects or splicing gaps will cause particles to fall directly into the production area. Therefore, the panels have stricter requirements for surface flatness and splicing precision than wall panels.


Ceiling System Accessories & Load Capacity

Clean ceiling panel installation requires a dedicated hanging system, including T-shaped keels, suspension rods, hangers and reserved access openings.

Under standard configuration, single-point hanging load capacity should be ≥ 0.5kN, suitable for installation of conventional lighting fixtures, smoke detectors and sprinkler heads.

For additional FFU fan filter units, reinforcement of the corresponding area's keel load capacity is required during the ceiling design phase.

Access openings are recommended every 30 – 50m², using sealed access doors to maintain overall ceiling airtightness.

Ceiling installation height is generally 2.4 – 2.8m from the floor, forming a complete enclosed enclosure together with wall panels.

It is recommended to complete the integrated pipeline layout drawing design before ceiling construction to avoid later cutting and openings that may damage panel sealing integrity.

Comparison with Mineral Wool Ceiling

Mineral Wool Ceiling: Low cost and good sound absorption, but the surface is prone to powdering, not resistant to wiping and deforms when moist. In workshops with high cleanliness requirements, powdering from mineral wool ceilings may directly lead to increased product defect rates. The cost of clean ceiling panels is approximately 2 – 3 times that of mineral wool systems, but they maintain long-term dust-free effects with no powdering risk.

Calcium Silicate Ceiling: Good fire resistance and better moisture resistance than mineral wool, but joints must be filled and are prone to cracking if not handled properly. They use clip-in installation, with each panel independently fixed. Repair and replacement do not affect adjacent panels.


Packaging & Transportation

Due to the relatively long length of clean ceiling panels (typically spanning the workshop width), side-standing racks are used for packaging. Panels are placed vertically to avoid flexural deformation from flat storage. Thick foam spacers are placed between each layer of rack panels. Surface protective film is applied at the factory and recommended to be removed after installation is completed.

Transportation vehicles must be flatbed trucks with a length of no less than 12 meters, with rainproof measures. Upon arrival at the site, it is recommended to unload and store in a dry indoor area on the same day, avoiding outdoor placement exposed to rain and moisture.

Hanging System: Compatible with T-shaped keels or C-shaped steel keels

For integrating FFU filter unit installation openings in the ceiling, the FFU model and opening dimensions (standard 575mm × 575mm or 1175mm × 575mm square openings) must be provided during the design phase. The factory can pre-cut the openings.
